Go To The People(GTP) camp is a youth initiative by YuMetta foundation. It is a non-political, non-ideological, democratic group of young individuals who has passion to bring positive change in the society by working and growing together. YuMetta is firm in its belief that there is goodness present in each & everyone and we just need to keep nurturing that goodness till it surfaces. YuMetta is based on its core values of Trust, Honest and Brave Communication, Friendship, Integrity, Transparency, Accountability, Innovation, Compassion, Humility, Diversity, Non-Competitiveness, Teamwork and of course, Fun.
Helping young people search meaning of their life by a journey inwards through exploring and understanding themselves, and a journey outwards to understand society, surrounding environment and challenges present outside.
Helping to bring together a group of socially aware and sensitive young people in various areas through a series of camps structured to provide platform regarding understanding of self, society and possible approaches to social contribution.

- Providing a space for youth to develop deep bonds of friendship with like-minded individuals from different walks of life.
- Helping the youths to rediscover their strengths, inner values and live a meaningful life.
The camp will be a lively experience for participant which will be balanced with seriousness and fun. The camp will consist regular sessions, brain storming, games, plays, discussion, group activities, debate, listening to role models, meeting like minded people and famous personalities in social sector and exposure visits. Each camp is held at a renowned institute in social sector, so participant also gets a chance to see these institutes, interact with the founders and understand the thought process behind such institutes.
The primary focus will be on helping the participants to start thinking critically about various issues in life. This will be ensured through group discussion, tasks, presentation, report writing, interviews, observation , etc.
Availability of resource persons and interaction with them will also help participants to raise different questions and try understand how other had faced the problem they are facing now. Different experts from various fields of public health, administration, activists, engineering, education, scientists, etc will join and guide the participants during the camp duration.
The participants will also be encouraged and facilitated in research, report write ups , advocacy and other skills needed for it.

The structure of Go to the people youth camps: Number of camps: 3 camps in one batch 1st Camp - August of the year 2nd Camp- October of the year 3rd Camp- Feb or March of the next year (depending on exams of participants) Number of participants: 70 to 80 Duration of camp: 7 days Selection process: Step 1 – Interested participants can fill the application form. To download application form from the website click here. The application form will be available in Mar to May of the year. Step 2 – The participants will send a completely filled application form to GTP support team by email (yumetta.in@gmail.com), google form or post before 15th May of the year. Send by post before 31st May of the year at following address- YuMetta Foundation, Besides Of Deshi Dhaba, Rohnipuram, DDU Nagar, Amanaka, Raipur, Chhattisgarh-492010 Step 3 – GTP team will screen these forms and will select around 200 participants for interview in June of the year. Step 4 – Selected participants will be assessed during interview in July of the year. Step 5 – Final selection list of 70-80 participants will be declared by end of July of the year. This will be followed by 3 camps for each batch per year per state.

Expected Outcome
At the end of the camps, the participant will develop more understanding of themselves, their physical & psychological processes, knowing emotions, along with their drives, aspirations, etc.
The participant will get basic understanding of soft skills like values, leadership, management, administration and other needs of participants emerging from time to time.
The participants will also develop a basic understanding about their dreams and will develop more clarity about their confusions in career and life.
The participant will learn to see their inclination on different paths and what are the challenges present on those paths.
The participants will learn to observe and understand problems present in today’s society through a scientific attitude and how to work for the problem individually and collectively in a more effective way.
It is assumed that a better equipped person will transform this knowledge into increasing efficiency in any work. This can be measured both qualitatively and quantitatively.
Finally people who understood meaning of their life and driven by a mission are an asset for themselves, their family and the society.
Frequently Asked Quetions
- If I fill the application form, does it means i am selected for the camp?
Ans – No. Once your application form reaches the GTP support team, it will be screened. Then most deserving candidates will be shortlisted for interview among all the application form. And based on the interview 60 final participants will be selected for the camp. - When will be the exact dates of camp?
Ans- It will be declared soon. 1 st camp will be in month of July 2020. 2nd camp will be 6 months after the first camp. The camp dates will be finalized considering the exam schedule of various selected candidates. - What will be the cost of the camp?
Ans- The camp is highly subsidised for the participants. The candidate has just to pay around 1000 rs once the final list is out to confirm his/her participation. This should be paid before the camp. This 1000 rs will be for payment of food and lodging for 6 days. The candidate has to travel to the camp venue by their own expenses. If any selected candidate has some financial problem, they can write to us for financial assistance. - Who will be the resource person for the camp?
Ans – The candidates gets a unique opportunity to interact with various resource person who are experts in the field of Health, Education , Administration , Agriculture, etc.
